The Young Scholars Series is a collection of articles on the subject of Indian Urban History by scholars in their early phase of exploration. These articles, essays or provocation notes, explored in CityLab India’s ‘Writing Urban History Workshop’, try to uncover some of the pressing themes concerning the questions of Indian cities. The idea behind this publication was to initiate a dialogue on Indian Urban History with the hope that these pieces can provide a springboard to the authors and other scholars to explore and take forward these works into a more systematic and long drawn inquiry.
